Best practices for post articles
SEO Fields
SEO Title and SEO Description fields are used to tell search engines what to display when your page appear in search results.
They are important to incentivize users to click on the link in search results and are also one (among many) factors used by Google for indexing content.
So it is important to fill them in correctly.
Rules about SEO fields lenght:
- title: must be max 60-65 char length
- description: must be max 160 char length
OG Fields
OG Fields are used by Facebook to display a preview of your post when you share it. They are also used by LinkedIn and Twitter.
- OG Title length:
- Optimum: 55 characters or under. This ensures that your title will be visible on desktop and mobile devices and also allows for your description to be visible.
- Maximum recommended: 95 characters or under.
- OG Description length:
- Optimum: 55 characters or under. Combined with a 55 character title, your copy will be visible on all devices.
- Maximum recommended: 200 characters or under.
- OG Image size:
- Recommended: For the most impact on Facebook, make images at least 600px by 315px and, ideally, 1200px by 630px. Images below this minimum size will create smaller cards.
- Minimum OG Image size: 200px by 200px for FB, 80px by 150px for LinkedIn (used by fb, twitter, linkedin..)
Images in articles
When you post an image in a blog article, first of all follow the rules about "Weight and format" described in Images Page.
Then check that the inserted image is correctly visible even from mobile and does not cause a side scroll. If is the case, add a class in your html (or ask a developer to do it) to handle responsive behavior.
